Who we are

What comes across the bench

Most of what rolls through the door isn't broken in an interesting way. It's fuel. Gas with ethanol in it pulls water out of the air, and a mower parked in an Ohio garage in October on a half full tank spends the whole winter turning that gas into varnish. Come the first warm week of April, the jets are plugged and the float bowl has a crust in the bottom of it. The engine turns over all day and never catches.

The rest is wear you can't see from the seat. Blades go dull faster here than people expect, because clay ground heaves stones up over the winter and a mulching deck finds every one. A dull blade tears the grass. Torn tips go brown in a day, and the yard looks sick a week later. Belts stretch and spindle bearings dry out. A deck packed with wet spring clippings holds water against bare metal until it rusts thin.

So we find out what's actually wrong before we quote it. Sometimes that's a plug, an air filter, fresh oil and a sharp blade, and the machine has years left in it. Sometimes it's a cracked deck or a seized engine on a mower that's already done its work. We'll say so, instead of taking money for a repair worth more than the thing being repaired. You hear which one it is before a part gets ordered.

Apart on the bench back running

A mower comes in dead and gets stripped down on the bench. Then it goes home starting on the first pull.

Why us

Why the machine comes here

Rated 4.3 across 61 Google reviews

Of those, 45 are five stars. The profile's claimed and we read what people write on it.

We can come out and pick it up

Onsite service is on our profile for a reason. A rider or a snow blower doesn't fit in most cars, and you shouldn't have to borrow a truck to get one serviced.

Warranty repairs handled with the manufacturer

Warranty repair is one of the things people mention about us most. We deal with the maker on the claim and the parts, so you're not the one chasing it.

You hear the price before we touch it

We find the fault first. Then you hear what the repair costs and what's in it. If the machine isn't worth the money it needs, we'll tell you that instead.

Commercial mowers get the same bench

Zero-turns and commercial walk-behinds come through here all season. A crew machine chews through belts and blades in a few weeks, so it gets looked at with that in mind.

Mowers in summer, snow blowers in winter

Central Ohio hands you both seasons, and both machines sit unused for half the year. We work on what's about to be needed and on what just finished its run.

I wasn't sure about the 25 minute drive to get there but I'm so glad I went. Very professional. Prices were great really met all my needs. I will take all of our lawn care to this establishment even though there are companies closer. They listened to my problem and gave it the time I neefed. Thank you so much for your business.

This is run like a family business and they know what they are doing. I was referred for a warranty repair. They do not seem to lack work and I had a wait. They fulfilled the repair pretty close to the time promised. The "showroom" is small and smells like a shop from my past with the fragrance of old grease and oil.

We had a Ryobi electric riding mower that suddenly stopped working. They picked up the mower and working with Ryobi, were able to repair it after several months. The amount of dedication to finding the problem and fixing it was incredible. I highly recommend Dave and his willingness to complete repairs.

Insanely great service and a breadth of knowledge. After calling a dozen shops to work on my Craftsman mower and no one taking the job, these guys got my mower fixed up and running again in a few days. Great price on the whole job and will be taking all my lawn stuff to them. Highly recommend, don't even bother looking anywhere else.

I called and spoke to Dave about getting my ride on mower picked up and serviced with a tune up. Dave was clear about the pricing. Davr was very clear about what was included with the tune up & he set my expectations about the amount of time my mower would be in the shop due to the shop being very busy because spring had just begun.

Referred by the Lowe's Warranty Department to check on my snowblower that didn't start. I called yesterday afternoon, talked with Dave, who was very courteous and informative. Within an hour and a half, he personally came to pick it up, and within 24 hours I had it back fixed and ready to go! Superb customer service! Thanks Dave! 👏

Questions

Nine times out of ten it's fuel. Gas with ethanol in it pulls moisture out of the air, and a tank left half full through an Ohio winter turns to varnish that plugs the carburetor jets and sticks the float. It usually cleans up fine. Next fall, run the tank dry or treat the fuel before the mower goes in the garage.

More often than most people think. Clay ground heaves stones up over the winter and a deck finds every one of them. A dull blade tears grass instead of slicing it, so the torn tips go brown within a day and the yard looks sick a week later. We grind the blade and balance it, because a blade that's out of balance beats the spindle bearings apart.

Depends what's wrong with it. A plug, an air filter, a carburetor clean and a sharp blade on a decent machine is money well spent, and that mower has years left in it. A cracked deck or a seized engine on a worn out machine is a different talk. We'll say so instead of selling you a repair worth more than the mower.

Yes. Electric mower repair is one of the jobs we get asked about most. They fail differently than gas machines, usually a control board, a switch, a bad cell in the pack, or a wiring fault. When they're inside the warranty period we work the claim with the manufacturer for the parts.

That's a good share of what comes through the door. Retailers and manufacturers send people here. We handle the claim paperwork and the parts order from our side, and you drop the machine off and let us deal with it.

Depends on the season, and on parts. The first warm week of spring fills every bench in central Ohio at once, and a warranty part ships on the manufacturer's schedule instead of ours. We'll tell you what we're actually looking at when you drop it off. No guessing at the counter.

Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Saturday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Sunday Closed. Outside those hours use the form and we answer the next working day.

We cover mower tune-up and repair, blade and chain sharpening, snow blower repair, chainsaw tune-up, commercial and zero-turn mowers and pressure washer repair. Every one of them has its own page with what is included.
